Abstract:

In this talk, a fast algorithm is proposed for solving Laplace boundary value problem in layered media. Boundary integral equation with unknowns only on the boundary of the interested domain is derived for the problem by using the layered Green’s function. Then, the discretization of the boundary integral equation using collocation method gives a large non-symmetric dense linear system. We develop a fast multipole algorithm accelerated matrix free GMRES iterative method to solve the problem. The numerical results show that the fast algorithm has high order accuracy and O(N) complexity.
