Abstract: As a consequence of the variational structure,we establish a Lyapunov-type stability result, demonstrating that the axis-touching geometry persists under small perturbations. Finally,we deriveaquantitativeboundonthehorizontalcenterofmassofperturbedsolutions, showing that they propagate at nearly the same speed as the underlying Sadovskii vortex.
